AUGUST

What a month, sorry about the weather around the 20th, but it had been the first rain for some 9 weeks and it did give everybody the chance to explore the interior, such as Tourtour, one of the charming Provencal hill top villages, or the Canyon de Verdon, the largest in Europe.

August 25th each year sees the celebration of the liberation of the South by the Allies. This year was a bit special with two days of air displays and fantasticly realisc drive by processions

A not so hidden facility, which turned out to be great fun and not overcrowded, was the perminant fair on the Faux roundabout on the way to Saint Tropez. It took us two years to go there as it always appeared to be shut, but that is because it only opens at 8pm in the evening, staying open until 1am.

Also for a change we took in the Aqualand at Frejus, rather than Sainte Maxime's own one.. I am not sure the heavy traffic made it worth it, but once there the change of 'rides' soon had the kids forgetting the journey

We also persuaded some friends to experience the 'ADVENTURE sur LES ARBRES', a not cheap, but stimulating and great way to burn off energy swinging in between the trees. Situated behind Aquland it is easy to get to and the entrance fee allows you to stay as long as you want. Adults are about Euro 12, kids under 10 Euro 8.00. The is something for every age, though for the more difficult routes height is an issue.
